Originally named Ksys Consulting, the company was founded in Los Angeles in 1996 by Kim Murdock, and specialized in project management. Long-term clients have included major law firms such as Foley & Lardner and Paul Hastings.

As a result of years of problem-solving for clients, Ksys developed a system of productivity tools which received acclaim for its expert functionality and user-friendly form. Kim realized they had also acquired the skills to build and implement custom tools on short notice, helping clients far more efficiently than the "putting out fires" approach traditionally employed by consultants.

So Kim decided to expand the focus of the company by offering exceptionally stable and easy-to-use, affordable, custom-integrated (and sometimes custom-designed) productivity tools. And so, Appkickers were born.

At about the same time, she had the opportunity to move to the Monterey Peninsula. Doing so meant expanding the company's clientele, which dovetailed perfectly with the new focus. With these changes came a new company name — Pagrovia Technology.
